PROVISIONAL LEAGUE,Mens Provisional 1 vs UWA Lost 2 4 . Goals M Ashley C Ellis, After the highs of beating Aquinas last week it was obvious that the. team had continued celebrating the entire week which lead to a. performance like the one we witnessed today Poor result which . when combined with the oppositions continual efforts to umpire the. game themselves left a sour taste in the mouth of all involved . Hopefully next week all will be in peak physical condition in order to. remedy this blip in the record ,Ladies Provisional 2 Gold vs Canning Lost 0 3 . Best R Harries W Joyce B Antonio K Sparkes, Well our first loss for the season and it was a bitter pill to swallow . The other team came out strong but weren t unbeatable they got in. a few lucky goals and it just shook us as a team We weren t the in . sync team that we normally are so hopefully we will shake that off. for next weeks game ,Mens Provisional 3 Gold vs UWA Won 2 0 2.
Goals G Thomas J McMahon,METRO LEAGUE,Ladies Metro 1 vs Wolves Lost 2 5 . Best J Olde K Mishra A Walsh,Goals L O Sullivan T Rayfield. Nice day for spectators thanks to the Lathams for your. encouragement neigh x,Ladies O35 Division 2 vs Uni Drew 1 1 2014 05 07. Goals S Clark, Mens O50 Division 1 vs Hale Won 1 0 . Best G Ross M Jensen W Hudson P Matthews,Goals A Reynolds.
It was a pleasure to play on a good surface and as a result some. pretty good hockey was played by both teams Our defence held up. again against a potentially potent Hale forward line and to keep. them to nothing was a testament to our skill and tenacity Some. excellent keeping by Wayno helped as well Excellent. communication from our fullbacks makes life for our midfield so. much easier Apples was pivotal in the 2nd half as we began to. control the game and get some drive thru the midfield It was great. to see Andy back on the field and a well timed chip shot saw the. only goal go in for the day Thanks to Dave Warpy and Patrick for. helping out A few people returning next week and a few more wins. under our belt and anything could happen , STEVE MCENTEE S. Mens O50 Division 2 Gold vs Pirates Won 2 0 ,Best C Slattery G Widdicombe R Nottage. Goals G Coleman R Knyn, A good win against India s national side Probably Pitch s best game.
for the season The biggest disappointment was the lack of. rehydration facilities after the game ,Mens O50 Division 3 vs Hale Won 1 0 . Best T Patton G Bowater M Hudson B Porter,Goals J McGready. What a difference a week makes Probably our best team effort in. this competitive and hard fought game against Hale Every team. member contributed today but special mention to Brett for saving. the penalty flick ,Mens O60 Division vs WASPS Lost 1 3 . Best J Smith R Domingo S McEntee,Goals R Domingo, Tough to lose this one to two late WASPS goals after holding our. own with good possession hockey for the majority of the game But. encouraging that we re starting to hold our shape and confidence for. longer when we play top quality opposition And are creating enough. chances around goal to start winning against these teams with a. little more luck and consistency maintaining possession under. Boys 11 12A vs Hale Won 4 0 ,Best J Rutigliano J Ross H Lock.
Goals J Ross 2 A Ranford A Rayfield, Impressive game by the boys Got our first win for the season and. was the first game the boys played as a team The two 9 10 boys. Alex and Hayden played outstanding for us and had big parts in the. Hopefully the boys can keep the momentum going into the next. game and for the rest of the season , Girls 11 12A vs Hale Drew 1 1 . Best L Lefroy M Sader R Harrup,Goals B Anderson, We made hard work of this one and were lucky to come away with a. draw We had a number of opportunities including at least six shorts. which gave us our second goal of the season The girls impressed. with a number of runaway penetrations into Hale s D but. unfortunately were unable to capitalise Its early days yet and. there s still time to get it all together and a number of wins on the. Boys 11 12B vs YMCC Lost 1 4 ,Best J Paterson T Mansfield J Templeman. Goals A Howells, We started off solidly with the first goal of the night and didn t.
manage to progress any further after that YMCC had a solid. defence and gave us a good game Our umpires had a difficult time. due to poor visibility as the fog rolled in down at Lark Hill not. kidding and was very thick towards the end of the game Our boys. are looking forward to a good game next week a little closer to. Girls 11 12B vs Ellenbrook Drew 1 1 ,Goals A Graham. Boys 9 10A vs Hale Lost 0 3 , A very disappointing result and one which clearly didn t reflect the. dominance we actually had throughout the game Unfortunately for. us it was our own silly mistakes that cost us goals It was frustrating. that these mistakes came from things we spent a lot of time. addressing On a brighter note we played some of our best hockey. this season in patches of the game and if we continue to play to this. standard we will definitely start winning games , Girls 9 10A vs Pirates Lost 1 2 . Best Hood Snyman Hagen,Goals J Snyman, Not the result we were looking for this weekend but there s only one. way to go from here Proved to be a tough opposition that made our. press look quite sloppy through the middle Implying points given in. team talks and training into games is now key for the girls to keep. moving forward Heaps of work to go just looking forward to next. weekend see how we get back up ,Girls 9 10A Promotion vs Joondalup Lost 0 5 .
This week we played the top side and despite the odds came away. with a good result It was pleasing to see that the girls are slowly. starting to get the structure in place and a bit more work is required. with our midfield players to finish off our overall plays It was good to. see the girls now looking for the short option through the midfield . and some of the longer balls to our high strikers was well executed . We will need to work on fitness and mobility to ensure we can drive. back into defence effectively to maintain pressure on the ball carrier . We are improving each week and will continue to do so with some. further commitment , A big thanks to Tiana who played a solid game in defence and to. Kristen in a high striker role And also to Alice who was ready to fill. in due to a last minute withdrawal and ran hard the whole game in. the midfield ,Boys 9 10A Reserve vs YMCC Lost 1 5 . Best C Deaville E Tang T Ziegelaar, Much better effort from the boys this week and the final score was. not a true refection of the closeness of the game The defense was. very solid repelling many attacks and the forward line looked. dangerous creating a number of opportunities that we could not. capitalise on , We still have a lot of work to do at training especially in defense as. we are conceding far too many penalty corners but overall the signs. www hockeyinternational com au, Proud supporters of Melville City Hockey Club.

Best A Edgar L Hill M Widger,Goals M Batten, It was a tough game this week It is early days and the team is. finding their feet There is plenty of promising things happening and. the ball movement is looking good Great work to stick at it all. game Great job , Girls 9 10C vs Hale Lost 0 4 , Wow girls another amazing team effort this week The back line. was under constant pressure and you never gave up instead you. worked together to keep out over 20 short corner attempts by the. other team And even though you didn t win this week the teamwork. and determination you showed was great to see A huge thank you. to Sophie Cailey and Dempsey and of course their parents for. playing up for us this week you played so well and we couldn t. have fielded a side without you And finally an A for outstanding. effort and a big congratulations goes to Vanessa for being there to. coach us the morning after her wedding ,Boys 7 8A vs Hale Won 4 0 .
Best D Paino W Stewart L Downey,Goals L Downey D Forbes W Stewart M Tate. Fantastic win today Boys We worked really well up forward with. some great inside passing Great pressure on the opposition ball. carrier right across the field did not allow them enough time and. space to make too many clean passes Keep your focus on your. mid and back structures deep into the game so we don t get caught. out WELL DONE , Bank of Queensland, Applecross, 18 22 Riseley Street. Goals K Osullivan 2 J Vanderzwan, First up a big thank you to Chloe Forbes and Saoirse Hanavan for. slotting into the team so well to cover for Chicken Pox Neasa and I. look good in a bridesmaid dress Cassandra Congratulations on a. fine win Not too many teams will get the better of YM this year Abi . again demolished their defence down the right side and set up play. beautifully Kayla at centre forward scored twice and also set up our. press so well that we were able to force a handful of turnovers . Amelia s discipline in marking her player is first class we will get. her setting up forwards in no time Eilidh and Sarah looked after the. back half well and our midfield worked hard both ways all game . Keep getting ourself into the scoring zone Crystal and you will. knock in the first of many goals Our best game to date Yes there. will be hitting practice at training ,Girls 7 8A Promotion vs Hale Lost 1 2 . Goals A Haigh, First game on turf the girls found it a bit faster against quality. opposition ,Boys 7 8A Reserve,Best Team Effort, A huge improved effort from the boys who defended strongly this. week especially with 3 players down Thank you to the 5 6 A boys. who filled in for us Ben Harel Callum Flynn and Daniel Moulin . Manning up attacking the ball and holding their structure was much. better this week , Girls 7 8A Reserve vs YMCC Drew 1 1 .
Goals M Algar, A fantastic game for the A Reserves The girls are really starting to. play great hockey Great passing play led to a lovely goal from Mia. Algar YMCC kept pressing and eventually despite numerous. brilliant saves by Chloe scored a goal making it one a piece All in all. a draw was probably a fair result Much to be positive about and a. great game of hockey to look forward to next week . Boys 7 8B Black vs Westside Wolves Lost 0 6 ,Best C Addison A Blechynden. To their credit the boys did not give in the game thought the odds. were against us Half our boys were unwell carried an injury into the. game or took a hard knock during play while the Wolves had two. subs sitting in the shade We were at quite a disadvantage but very. strong contributions from our developing players the team played a. very good second half Our penalty corner defence worked well. today which is a good sign for the future Our positioning is. improving but will need more work ,Boys 7 8B White vs NC Raiders Won 7 1 . Best C Soraine J Needham O McHoull M Ogden J Richards. Goals J Needham 5 O McHoull C Soraine, After a heavy loss against Fremantle last week the boys were. chomping at the bit to tackle Raiders and show what they were. capable of doing A bit of a change to our system was a challenge. for the boys but they took it on and through good team work and. basic skills dominated the first half against a dogged opposition and. were probably unlucky not to be a lot more ahead at half time The. second half saw Raiders become very defensive and this made. scoring difficult none the less the domination of the game continued. and it was really good to see the teamwork and sharing of the ball. until the final whistle We still have lots of room to improve in our. defensive work but it was a great win and the boys should feel.
